Crystal Park

Crystal Park is a must-go-there for everyone! Pits are dug all over the site, but even children can have fun looking for crystals, as none of the pits are very deep. Mom and Dad - keep a close eye on the little people, though, as they're too important to not be safeguarded at all times! But do get your kids involved in finding the quartz and amythest crystals. This is one family site that must be on your rockhounding list! The site is managed by the USFS, and a per car fee is charged. Access is from Wise River on the north, or via Polaris on the south, on FR 73, a paved road built to secondary standards. Allow an 30 to 45 minutes driving time to reach the collecting area from either Wise River or Polaris.

From time-to-time, new location cards will be added to this list, so you may want to check back often.
