Martin Creek Limonite

Limonite after pyrite may be found just off the Martin Creek Road west of Whitefish. Allow yourself 30 to 45 minutes driving time from Whitefish. Access is via US Hwy 93 and forest service roads. The collecting site is approximately 1/4 mile from a locked gate, along a closed roadway that has a gentle incline. Breaking hard rock is required to find the crystals, so bring hammers and rock chisels.
