Crystal Butte is not to be confused with Crystal Park, even though they are within thirty miles or so of eachother as the crow flies. Quartz crystals are found scattered about on Crystal Butte. Access is via county roads from Twin Bridges on the east, or Melrose on the west. While the distances from either community are not great, give yourself at least a half hour to forty-five minutes driving time to reach the site.
